The short answer
Reconcile legal identities, check the actual product-destination requirements and establish the seller-to-source relationship. Neither a Brazilian registration nor a Chinese import-related listing verifies the whole transaction.
Find where the Brazilian claim enters the obligation.
Start with the buyer, contractual seller and the Brazilian entity named as producer, exporter or other source. Identify the material claim: an existing allocation, a future supply arrangement, a plant’s eligibility or a document attributed to the producer. The scope should follow that claim rather than assume a direct Brazil-to-China sale.
Add the proposed consignee, importer where different, intermediary and beneficiary. Ask which entity will sign, perform, issue the invoice and receive funds. A third-country trader can fit a coherent structure; the task is to support each material link, not to treat the additional jurisdiction as evidence for or against the deal.
Keep original-language identifiers in the working file.
Request the Chinese legal name and applicable registration identifier alongside any English name. Distinguish a mainland entity from a Hong Kong company or other affiliate. Use the appropriate local registry and qualified local assistance where access or interpretation requires it. An English transliteration or a group website should not become the only identity key.
For the Brazilian participant, use the CNPJ and exact legal name; distinguish its headquarters, branch and plant identifiers. Preserve original-language records with translations linked to the source version. If the proposed signatory or document stamp refers to another entity, resolve that difference instead of assuming the bilingual presentation is internally authoritative.
For food, inspect the registration at product level.
Use the importing authority’s requirements for the actual product and date. The official GACC CIFER query for overseas food manufacturers allows searches by country, overseas registration number, China registration number, category, enterprise name and status. Match the facility and production address, not just a similar corporate name.
Read the registration details and product information. The portal distinguishes registration status and validity, and its category label is not a statement that every product in a broad category is approved. Check applicable product details and any current restrictions with the responsible regulatory or customs professional. A listing is not a seller mandate, a lot reservation or a guarantee of future clearance.
Reconcile Brazilian and destination records without flattening them.
For animal products, MAPA’s SIF page provides establishment records and country-specific export-eligibility routes. Compare the plant, operator, species or product and relevant dates with the China-facing records. If the systems differ or a status is unclear, capture the discrepancy and seek competent-authority clarification; do not select the more favorable result.
Other products require their own classification and administrative-treatment checks. Siscomex’s export resources are a Brazilian starting point, not a complete statement of destination-country obligations. This guide does not assert current approval of any facility or product, and a saved list should never be treated as permanently current.

| Question | Starting evidence | Separate question left open |
|---|---|---|
| Who is the Brazilian entity? | CNPJ and relevant corporate acts. | Who authorized the current offer? |
| Which plant is named? | MAPA establishment identity and matching address. | Does the seller control its goods? |
| Which food registration applies? | CIFER record, approved product detail and current conditions. | Is the proposed lot allocated to this seller? |
| Who is the contracting buyer? | Original-language legal name and appropriate corporate identifier. | Is the proposed signer authorized? |
| Why is this entity paid? | Agreement and authority supporting the beneficiary’s role. | Bank authentication and legal discharge of the payment obligation. |
Trace the producer claim independently of the broker.
Record where every offer, mandate, plant reference and certificate originated. A bilingual pack can repeat a single unsupported assertion with perfect consistency. Seek the document issuer or an authorized principal through an independently established channel, subject to agreed contact restrictions. Ask about the specific entity, goods and delivery period.
Use a precise confirmation question: does the producer recognize the trader, authorize this act and support this allocation? Those may receive different answers. If only a general relationship is confirmed, retain the lot-specific limitation. Translation should preserve that limitation rather than make the response sound more definite in English.
Carry the open facts into the payment decision.
Compare the beneficiary with the role map and have any differences assessed by counsel and the client’s bank. If an LC or SBLC is requested, record which facts remain unverified at issuance. Under an applicable documentary framework, examination of documents should not be confused with independent verification of the goods or commercial relationships.
Deliver an exception-led record with original identifiers, source dates, translations, confirmed links and remaining questions. Assign the next action to the competent source or professional. Update the affected checks if the plant, destination, seller, beneficiary or shipment period changes; a cross-border structure is not static simply because the product description is unchanged.
