Verify a Brazilian Company
Verify a Brazilian company beyond the registry.
Corporate registration establishes legal existence. It does not establish who is authorized to negotiate, what the company can deliver or whether the evidence supports the transaction being proposed.
Request VerificationA real company can be named in a transaction it has never authorized.
Begin with the right legal entity.
We reconcile legal names, registration identifiers, trading names, addresses and relevant corporate history. A parent, subsidiary, branch and commercial brand cannot be treated as interchangeable.
Brazilian corporate records are a starting point. The appropriate registry and corporate instruments may be needed to understand ownership changes, management and representation at the relevant date. We distinguish the information actually recorded from conclusions that require additional evidence.
Ownership, management and representatives.
Identify relevant shareholders, directors, executives, beneficial-ownership indicators and related entities within the agreed scope. Public records may not resolve every layer of an international ownership structure.
The person writing from a corporate-looking address is a separate verification question. Authority to introduce a buyer, issue a quotation, sign a contract or receive funds may differ. A company’s existence cannot be borrowed as proof of someone else’s mandate.
Read the company in context.
Relevant litigation, sanctions, adverse media, public commercial history and operational footprint can inform the assessment. Identity matching, dates, procedural status and source quality matter. Allegations are not findings, and an absence of results is not a clean bill of health.
- Corporate identity, registration status and relevant corporate history.
- Ownership, management, affiliates and material relationships.
- Litigation and adverse information interpreted in context.
- Operational indicators and consistency with the proposed role.
- Authority of representatives and material transaction claims.
Verify the claim you are being asked to rely on.
A foreign investor may be assessing a Brazilian asset owner. A lender may face a foreign borrower connected to a Brazilian group. A trader may be dealing with an offshore seller using documents attributed to a Brazilian producer.
The output separates verified identity from unverified authority, supply, asset or payment claims. Recommendations identify the confirmations still needed for the client’s specific decision.
Before the first conversation
Questions of scope.
Clear expectations. Explicit limitations.
Is a CNPJ check enough?
No. A CNPJ consultation can establish recorded corporate information. It does not establish representative authority, control of goods, a producer relationship or the basis for a payment request.
Can you confirm a beneficial owner?
We can investigate available ownership evidence within scope. Some layers may remain unverified because of disclosure rules, nominee structures, incomplete records or lawful access restrictions.
Before you take exposure, understand what can be verified.
A confidential conversation about the questions, the scope and the next step.
